While Meri Pyari Bindu and Sarkar 3 both had a really dull opening at the Box Office on their first day, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is still dominating the charts. Let’s talk about the collections of the movies one by one.
First up is, Meri Pyari Bindu – Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra-starrer film opened to an occupancy of 15% for the morning shows. It just did a business of Rs 3.5 crore, which is a very low number for a Yash Raj Film. The romantic comedy is about childhood sweethearts, and was released on 750 screens. While the critics said that the movie is boring, the audiences say that it is a one-time watch. Ayushmann seems to have impressed the audience with his performance. With a budget of Rs 22 crore, the movie could do a decent business at the Box Office. Rest is yet to see.
Talking about Sarkar 3, it had the goodwill of the first Sarkar and also Amitabh Bachchan, but still the movie did not manage to do a good business on the first day. Sarkar 3 was screened on 1425 screens and saw an occupancy rate of 10%. The film did a total business of Rs 2.4 crore. Even though it was released on larger number of screens, the film earned slightly less than Meri Pyari Bindu. Besides Big B, the film stars Manoj Bajpayee, Yami Gautam and Jackie Shroff in lead roles. The audiences said that even though they did not like the supporting cast much, everyone was all praises for Big B. Analysts said that the film’s collection can boost up over the weekend, as Sarkar fans might enjoy the film.
And now, talking about the record-breaking Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film is breaking all records, and even after two weeks of its release, it did much better than Meri Pyari Bindu and Sarkar 3. It did a business of Rs 9.5 crore on its third Friday, which took its total collections so far to Rs 395.5 crore. Baahubali 2 has already smashed every record that existed by churning out such numbers. The Hindi version is inching towards the 400-crore mark, and shows no signs of stopping at creating major BO records.
It has surpassed all major Box Office records of highest grossing films like Dhoom 3, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dangal.
