Using emoticons in our daily life has become a need of our day to day conversation, What if we could see them ‘alive’, sounds amazing! it is all going to be real because the emoji movie, here I am talking about, is all set to make it to the big screen. Sony Pictures Animation is indeed developing an animated film based on these ideograms and smileys that will take on the secret world of our phones.
The film is directed by Anthony Leondis, produced by Michelle Raimo Kouyate, and written by Anthony Leondis and Eric Siegel. It will open in theatres on August 11, 2017.
Here’s the plot synopsis:
“The story will revolve around the Gene, an emoji that lives inside the texting app of a teenager’s smartphone. In the world of emojis, Gene is facing a unique problem, in his family where everyone has a neutral expression but Gene follows multiple which makes him distinct from other’s. Now he starts freaking about this personality that if he can’t find a way to be ‘normal’, he’ll disappoint his family, or worse, be deleted. Determined to change his extraordinary expressions he starts searching a ‘code’ that can fix his programming and make him like everyone else. With the help of his few emojis friend his search takes him on fun-filled journey that transferred him in the teenager’s smartphone, from his hope in a texting app through a succession of apps (including a gaming app, a music streaming app, a photo-sharing app, a video streaming app, a dance app, and a file-sharing app).”
The Emoji movie we talked about a while ago is going through a title change, the film has indeed been re-titled “Emojimovie: Express Yourself” by Sony Pictures Animtion. And here’s the new logo:
