Salman Khan aka Bhaijaan is someone, who is not only a Bollywood star, but enjoys equal fame in the Television industry as well. After successfully hosting several seasons of reality show Bigg Boss, he is all set to produce a new TV series. The Sultan actor will be soon making a debut as a producer in Television with a show that will based on ace wrestler Gama Pehalwan. The TV series will show the life and times of Gama Pehalwan aka Ghulam Hussain.
Not many people know that the actor wanted to make a film on the same subject, but the project was shelved after he came to know that John Abraham was also keen on making a biopic on the wrestler. And after both the movies could not materialise, Salman decided to use his idea in a TV series.
While the actor is yet to make an official announcement about the project, here’s everything you want to know about Salman’s TV production –
- Sohail Khan will play the lead role in the show.
- Former Bigg Boss contestant Puneet Issar will be directing the show, and his son Siddhant will be the co-director. Siddhant is also the script-writer of the show.
- The 52-episode show will be aired on Star Plus, and each episode will be of an hour. It will air twice a week.
- The show is going to be set in the period of partition in Amritsar, which is Gama Pehalwan’s hometown.
Gama Pehalwan, also known as The Great Gama was born in Amritsar in an ethnic Kashmiri family. His victories started when he was just ten years old. He was undefeated in his entire career that spanned for more than 52 years. After Independence, he migrated to Pakistan, and died at the age of 82 in 1960.
