US President-elect Donald Trump invited some media big shots for a private ‘meeting of minds’, and while the journalists thought that they would be discussing the access they would get in the Trump administration, they were in for something else.
According to the report in New York Post, Trump, instead of striking a harmonious tone, was combative.
He directly called the journalists and the TV executives ‘deceitful liars’ and dishonest. The report quoted a source saying, ‘It was like a f—ing firing squad. Trump started with [CNN chief] Jeff Zucker and said ‘I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed.’
Trump was used the word ‘unfair’ a lot of times. To name a few prominent among the members of the media fraternity, here are some of them:
- ABC news anchors George Stephanopoulos and David Muir, correspondent Martha Raddatz
- CNN’s Wolf Britzer and Worldwide Chairman Jeff Zucker
- Four top executives from Fox News: Bill Shine, Jack Abernethy, Jay Wallace and Suzanne Scott.
- NBC News President Deborah Turness
However, Chairman of Trump campaign has disputed the reports. She said that Donald Trump did not explode in anger, adding that it was an off-the-record meeting, and whoever is divulging the details should think twice.
