Arvind Kejriwal, who has always been busy in blaming other parties and leaders for his electoral losses and failures, faced a big loss in the recently concluded MCD polls. AAP came a poor second by winning only 48 of the 272 seats while the BJP swept the polls to all the three municipal bodies. And this time, in a rare admission of failure, the activist-turned politician finally accepted AAP’s mistakes.
Yes, you read it right. Arvind Kejriwal, who had blamed ‘tampered EVMs’ for the poor show in the civic polls in Delhi, finally admitted that the party has made a lot of mistakes, and that this is the time for action and not excuses. Shocked? Well, we were. Kejriwal took to Twitter this morning to accept the party’s mistakes, saying that the key is to find the reserves to hold and pull the party up.
He wrote –
‘In the last 2 days, I spoke to many volunteers and voters. The reality is obvious. Yes, we made mistakes but we will introspect and course correct. Time to go back to drawing board. To no evolve will be silly. We owe that to the voters and volunteers. We owe that to ourselves. Need is action and not excuses. It’s time to get back to work. And even if slip from time to time the key is to find the reserve to hold and pull ourselves up. The people deserve nothing less. The only thing constant is change.’

The BJP had help all the three municipal bodies for the last 10 years and they did it again, with more seats. AAP concluded that the rejection in the latest MCD polls was the ‘spillover effect’ of BJP’s huge victory in UP.
