In a shocking revelation recently, two BJP leaders have been named after their alleged involvement in child trafficking in Jalpaiguri. Four people have been arrested in the case, and one of them claimed that National general Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and Women’s Wing President Roopa Ganguly are involved in child trafficking.
This Jalpaiguri child trafficking case is being investigated by the crime investigation department of the West Bengal police, according to which the NGO Bimala Sishu Griho is allegedly involved in the sale of babies across the country and to foreign couples.
The arrested trust chairperson Chandana Chakraborty told the police on camera that Vijayvargiya and Ganguly might be the ones involved in the case. Amongst the arrested people, there is BJP women wing’s leader Juhi Chowdhury. And according to Chakraborty’s statement, Juhi is the person who consulted the BJP leaders when she had approached them to seek help for starting an adopting agency.
While the accused have been charged with selling at least 17 children to foreign buyers at high prices, the BJP leaders denied the allegations made against them. Ganguly accused Mamata Banerjee of trying to frame her, and added that she is not afraid and will be taking a legal action.
Meanwhile, Vijayvargiya accused the CID of being guided by politics and said that they are working as ‘Conspiracy Invention Department’.
