Well, healthcare in the government hospitals in India is yet to go a long way. From unhygienic conditions to patients being served food on the floor, we bet you’ve heard lots of stories about government hospitals across the country. And here, we are talking about yet another one that happened in a MP hospital where a patient was EATEN by stray dogs. Yes, you read it right.
According to a report in Times of India, the body of a 70-year-old woman named Bishmillah Bai was eaten by dogs in a government hospital in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh. The hospital was completely clueless about where she was, as she was missing since March 22.
It was only after the authorities were informed about a foul smell in the hospital that the sanitation workers started working to find the source of the stench. They found the mauled body of the woman near the maternity ward of the MP hospital.
Mukesh Gaur, the station in-charge of the Kotwali Police Station said that only the woman’s head and some upper body parts were left, the rest was eaten by the dogs. He said that however, it is not yet clear whether the victim was alive when she was eaten, there were signs that the body was dragged five to seven feet over the ground.
The old woman was admitted to the hospital recently by the policemen after they found her unwell and lying on the roadside.
According to the TOI report, this is the fifth such incident in last 10 months in the state. In January earlier this year, dogs had mutilated body a newborn baby outside the Shahdol District Hospital. And in December last year, dogs ran off with remains of a stillborn child in Satna district. In yet another case reported, rats defiled a corpse in a Bhopal Hospital.
This is what our healthcare system looks like? OMG!
