It’s been four years since Nirbhaya was fatally gang-raped in a moving bus in the national capital, and the dreadful incident completely shook the entire nation. And as four years have passed since we all witnessed the nationwide protests, has anything changed?
Well, unfortunately, the answer to that question is a big NO. Rapes are not unusual, and they are still occurring every day. We all cried for Nirbhaya, we all prayed for her, and we all said in unison that this should not happen again. But has our attitude towards rape reformed?
Definitely no. Why? Because, a 20-year-old girl was raped in a moving car, which had a sticker of Ministry of Home Affairs in Delhi’s Moti Bagh area. Disgustingly shocking? The girl was waiting outside AIIMS when a man in a car offered her a ride.
She was allegedly molested in the moving car, and later, the driver stopped the car and raped her. The rape survivor then approached a PCR, who then, arrested the accused.
