Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal decided to sack Water Minister Kapil Mishra from his cabinet, who is the fourth minister to be sacked in the AAP government in a little over two years of their rule in the national capital. Soon after Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced this on Saturday, Kapil Mishra tweeted that he will be making a big expose in the water tanker scam the following day.
One Sunday, Mishra accused Kejriwal of corruption, saying that he saw the AAP chief accept a bribe worth Rs 2 crore from Health Minister Satyendra Jain.
He told the media that even he asked Kejriwal about the money, but he refused to answer. Mishra said –
‘I asked Kejriwal to call all party leaders, ministers and members to explain about the money. I urged him to seek an apology. And now, I have been sacked.’
Here are the latest developments in the AAP crisis –
- The 36-year-old former minister said he met LG Anil Baijal and had revealed all to him. He said that they must tell the public what was done with the money.
- How AAP defended Kejriwal?
AAP Sanjay Singh defended Kejriwal, saying that Mishra was only playing a game, and that all was done at BJP’s behest. Meanwhile, Kumar Vishwas also extended his support to Kejriwal. He said that no one would believe that Kejriwal took bribe, and that Mishra’s allegations have hurt him personally.
With the BJP demanding Kejriwal’s resignation over the same issue, and Congress demanding a CBI inquiry, Kumar Vishwas said that he has known Kejriwal for 12 years and he doesn’t think that he would indulge in corruption.

Refuting all the allegations, Manish Sisodia said that the accusations are all without any facts, and therefore, they are not even worth responding to.
- On Monday, Kapil Mishra spoke to media, telling them that he has shared all the evidences regarding the water tanker scam with ACB. And the next stop is CBI, but he will need time to prove is allegations.
