While Narendra Modi government is being lauded after the surgical strikes in PoK, some recent reports suggested that the centre has slashed down disability pensions for soldiers.
According to a report in Business Standard, a letter was issued by the Ministry of Defence a day after the surgical strikes, on Sept 30.
The letter dramatically reduced the disability pensions for the soldiers after battle injuries.
In a new notification, the Defence Ministry said that new pensions will be effective from January 1 for all servicemen receiving pensions for disability.
According to the new notification, the officers will now receive pensions as per rank.
