Did you know about an ancient Shiv Temple in Kashmir that hasn’t had devotees on Shivratri for years? Well, this ancient temple in Bandipora’s Sumbal town, located at the banks of Jhelum, hadn’t seen devotees in the last several years since Kashmiri Pandits left the area in early nineties.
They left the region due to the riots and a rise in militancy after which the temple was left deserted. And the biggest festival of Kashmiri Pandits, Mahashivratri, became just another day.
