Muslims across the country are celebrating Eid today, and the festive mood can easily be seen around. But the Muslim community has started a campaign online where they have urged the Muslims to offer their prayers wearing a black arm band. And the social media campaign gained momentum on Sunday. Why?
Well, we all know that the atrocities on Muslims leading in lynching incidents are on a rise. And the 16-year-old Junaid of Ballabgarh is the latest victim of the shameful incident. And they decided to wear black bands while offering their prayers to register their silent protest against the increasing incidents of the lynching.
Junaid Khan and his brothers were attacked on a Mathura-bound train which resulted in the death of the teenage boy. The boys had an argument with some of the fellow passengers while they were returning home after Eid shopping from Delhi’s Sadar Bazar. The fellow passengers called them ‘beef-eaters’, taunted and attacked the boys.
The Muslims have decided to refer the day as ‘Black Eid 2017’ so that the governments take notice and ensure peace and law.
