In an incident that came to light on Sunday, two RPF officials had beaten up an old and differently-abled man at the Balasore station in Odisha. As per the media reports, the incident happened on January 3 but came to light on January 8.
If reports are to be believed, the man was pulled out of a Guwahati-bound train and beaten up by Railways Protection Force (RPF) personnel. While some reports suggest that the old man used to sweep the floors of the trains between Balasore and Bhadrak Railway stations, others said that he was pulled out from a Guwahati-Bangalore Express train.
Soon after the video went viral, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu ordered a probe into the incident.
