Pic Courtsey: Aventurine
The flying taxi that is to occupy the skies of Dubai is called the ‘EHang 184’. This driver-less drone is called 184 because firstly, it carries one passenger. Secondly, it has eight propellers, and thirdly, it has four arms.
This electricity powered drone lets you fly for short-medium distances.
You do not have to fly EHang. You are a passenger who just has to sit back, relax and enjoy the flight. The beauty of the EHang 184 is that even if it’s a drone, it does not require a person to control it. Once you sit down in it, you just have to plot where you want to go on a map, and the central command system will handle the rest. It is a technological marvel that portrays unmatched excellence in safety, smartness, and ecofriendliness. [Also read: Hacker Reveals The Best Thing You Can Do To Make Your Password Unhackable]
Here are some of the technical aspects of the drone: The EHang 184 can move at the speed of about 100 kmph. It can fly for about 23 minutes at maximum. You must be shocked to know that this massive beast charges in just 25 minutes and all its motors are powered by electricity. This device ensures safety by having backup propellers in the case of failure of the main propellers. So, if one of the main propellers fails, the other ones will be able to calibrate and gradually descend.
The company’s head claims that this device has gone through all sorts of rigorous testing needed by the company’s employees and testing unit members, in able to transport you from one place to another. [Also read: Another step to solve the mystery of Black Holes will shock you]
One might wonder what the need for this new mode of transportation is. The answer is that, even though the EHang 184 looks like a helicopter, it is much different and much more efficient from a helicopter than it seems. A helicopter usually has a much larger stand than this device, and it requires a very big space to land, whereas the EHang 184 can fit itself into just two parking spaces.
This service is expected to commercialize in the city of Dubai in about four months, according to the city’s Road and Transport Authority. This could be the future of transportation. [Also read Google Assistant vs Siri! Which Of These Two Are Better]
