The new Rs 2000 note has been into news ever since it was introduced, and mostly, for wrong reasons. We bet you remember the reports about a GPS chip in the note. Next came, the reports about it being printed in radioactive ink. And then, there were videos of the note bleeding colour if put under water.
Now, there is another claim about the new Rs 2000 note. According to a report in The Hindu, the new note with serial number 456828, which was withdrawn from the Federal Bank branch at Taliparamba, started to CRUMBLE.
According to the report, one PC Shareefa claimed that she withdrew money from the bank on December 13, and found the note breaking into small fragments at the edges while she was handling it.
The report also said that that four other notes withdrawn from the bank also showed similar signs. Shareefa’s son told the media that they even informed the bank about it, but the bank wasn’t just willing to accept that it was given from that branch.
