Bollywood’s renowned singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya is best known for his controversies, especially his offensive tweets. On Tuesday, the micro-blogging site Twitter suspended Abhijeet’s account because of his unpleasant tweets against women. Social media users accused the singer using of abusive and insulting language as far as his tweets are concerned, and that prompted Twitter to take this step.
Recently, Abhijeet received a lot of flak for his tweets against JNU student-activist Shehla Rashid, and it prompted the Twitteratti to lodge a complaint with the site. It started when Shehla tweeted story by Hindustan Times on the alleged involvement of BJP workers in a sex racket.
Reacting to her tweet, the singer tweeted, ‘There is rumour she took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy the client… big racket.’
In another insulting tweet for a woman, the singer tweeted, ‘You Ms Pak. Tell me your cage no? Will reach there… Will do the favourite pose.’
After his account was deleted, Shehla Rashid took to Twitter to thank everyone for their support.

The singer also tweeted against journalist Sakshi Chaturvedi, and she ended up registering a complaint against the singer last year in July. He was even arrested after the complaint, and broke into tears after he got bail. But it seems some people never understand.
According to media reports, Abhijeet said that he doesn’t care about the suspension of his Twitter account as the entire nation is with him. He said –
‘Author Arundhati Roy and people supporting JNU” were behind the suspension of his account. Yes, I just saw it. They are trying to block Paresh Rawal also. All Arundhati and JNU group behind this after Paresh Rawal and I tweeted against Arundhati for her anti- India stand…I don’t care a damn, the entire nation is with me.’
